The teenage years are a unique and often complicated in-between time. Not quite adults, yet pushing the boundaries of independence, teens face pressures and challenges that are often overlooked or minimized. Social, emotional, and physical dilemmas can feel overwhelming during this stage of life — and having a steady, nonjudgmental space to make sense of it all can be invaluable.

I work with teens much as I do with adults: through client-driven, relational talk therapy built on trust, openness, and respect. Our work together offers them the opportunity to slow down, explore what’s really going on beneath the surface, and begin to better understand themselves. Whether they are struggling with relationships, identity, anxiety, school pressures, or big emotions, we will go at their pace.

I also stay connected with parents intermittently throughout the process, offering guidance and support when needed — while always centering my attention on the teen and their experience in the room.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where teens feel safe to be themselves, work through challenges, and begin the deeper work of self-exploration. The foundation they build during this time can support a smoother and more confident transition into adulthood.

If you think your teen might benefit from this kind of support, I welcome you to reach out.
